It’s better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times.”

Nigeria is blessed with zillion places to go be it for holiday or sightseeing that a lot of people don’t talk mention. Oblige me to indulge you about a place I visited that many don’t believe it’s existence,in Nigeria.

I and a photographer friend had conversation about location for pictures. And he showed me one where he shot a pre-wedding of a couple. Instantly I fell in love. Lo & behold the place wasn’t far. This luxuriant place I fell for, is a Castle, located in small village called Kajuru in one of the local government area of Kaduna state.

Kajuru Castle is a luxury villa, built by a german named GERHARDE HUEBRER in the early 80’s and was opened in the late 80’s.The castle is built with thick meter granite stone, it actually took five years to build complete with turrets, armoury and dungeon. The castle is ersatz Bavarian Castle. Bavaria, perhaps many would wonder what that is. Well wonder no more, it‘s a state in the south of Germany known for its famous beer (The Bavarian beer) and it’s automobile factory.
If you want an exclusive & luxurious getaway to experience an impressive architectural masterpiece with its breathtaking atmosphere set upon elevated peaks with stupefying views, Kajuru Castle is the place for you. It is styled in a chilvary European, & obviously the German way with a baronial hall,& suits of armor.

This tourist delight has been a set for popular music artist from the likes of Wande Coal, and others. It has a live crocodile, a fulgurant peacocks known to gallivant around.

The castle operates on an exclusive basis and can only accommodate 12 individuals or 5 couples at a time. The rooms are spread across. Three floors which feature four dungeon rooms, a central building with ‘knights’, a master’s bedroom fully air conditioned,TV’s, sofas, beds, private bathrooms, as well as a dragon tower well guarded by ‘dragons’.(fret not)
Guests can either bring or plan for their meals or ask the management to make an arrangement for food service providers in a town nearby, who will of course make deliveries at an extra cost. However, guests can either choose to use the castle’s equipped kitchen. There’s a spot beside the pool that offers a wide range of grilling, baking, roasting and barbecuing. There’s also finnish sauna that ensures a warming pleasure. On the Castle rooftop, there are set of tables and chairs that not less than 10 guests can sit on at a time. There is a garden.

My most attractive & exciting part of the facility is the open courtyard with the magnificent large stainless swimming pool, plus a barbeque area complete with an outdoor oven.Even though, we didn’t have the time or chance to barbecue as we were only there for some couple of hours.

I promise It was an exciting and memorable visit. We had the manager show us around.
Check-in time is around 10:am and check-out by 12pm. For those who of us who are pet lovers, sadly you can’t come with any animal pets. For those of us wondering if we can visit with kids, yayyy, good news is you can come with your kids. Even better news is, kids are allowed to stay free with their folks.

And of course, what better way to feel like a princess in a castle, I & Grace of @grammon24 had to come up with an idea of costumes in a short time to dress up for a photo session.Pictures they said speaks thousand words (Wink)

I hope this make you pack up already for a Christmas getaway. Please feel free to ask me any question regarding it in the comment section, I will be happy to answer.

  3. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work on your blog.

    • Hi,

Good to hear from you. Your cats looks beautiful. Unfortunately for me, I do not own a pet of my own. My sister just got a Rottweil dog. It’s so cute as a baby, but I hear it grows big to about 1foot. I‘m considering getting a chihuahua for myself. They are cute when small. And thank you for ur kind words.
